the future is now
Holograms are a tech geeks dream come true. It’s the unifying factor from every sci-fi movie in the history of mankind. Holograms are on the list of items from the 24th century along with the flying car or the laser gun that everyone wants to have.
During Coachella, an annual music festival that took place in California, there was a live performance by the deceased rapper Tupac. Now this isn’t the first wave of the zombie apocalypse, in fact it’s quite the opposite— a special effects company known as MPC created a hologram of the rapper. It combined wireframe, CGI and live footage from Tupac’s performances. Needless to say, the crowd was quite impressed. This isn’t the first time this space age tech has been used. Mariah Carey used the company to perform a concert in five different cities at the same time.
This gives us a glimpse as to what can be done in advertising. Can you imagine how amazingly awesome guerilla advertising can be with the use of holograms? This technology is still young, but it proves that the possibilities are endless.
