an organic love story
Whole Foods has gotten a little quirky with their advertising. A week before Valentine’s Day, Omelet (a Los Angeles based ad agency), put out a seven part comedic sketch series in order to find one very lonely guy his first Valentine. The leading role is played by Ben, a dorky almost-30-year-old goofball with his co-star Alex, a female Whole Foods employee who (kind of) helps aid his search. Every day during the seven days preceding Valentine’s Day, Ben plays around in the store searching for his perfect yoga-loving soul mate.
Whole Foods has got the right idea. Considering the countless hours we all spend on the internet just browsing around, we need more content like this to keep us entertained. Not only is it entertaining, it’s very informational. In these videos, Whole Foods featured a variety of items that they sell in house that people could use on Valentine’s Day. Holidays are there for a reason (for advertisers to milk it to our full advantage).
Why can’t we have a “Ben” in a local Atlanta Whole Foods? I wouldn’t mind walking around the aisles listening to him over the intercom. Now I’m craving some deliciously organic food (thanks, Whole Foods). It’s weird how a brand can embed themselves into my head. Most of the videos are all about “Ben, the goofball” but, all I can think about is Whole Foods and their awesomely healthy food. Clever.
